Listen, I thought I was living a version of my best life until I wasn't. I had gotten into yet another automobile accident (not my fault) and ended up needing surgery on my spinal cord and shoulder. Me (1) not being a fan of taking medication and (2) being afraid of accidentally getting hooked on the hardcore prescription pain meds, I started down a path of holistic health to heal.
Yep. The geek in me jumped in head first as I sat in my recliner after surgery on my cervical spine (ACDF 4-6). It was a long, scary, and painful rehabilitation journey as visions of my head falling off dominated my thoughts. I was chair bound and wanted to make the most of my time and build visions of a better life on the other side of the steep mountain.
I did a ton of reading piecing together my plan of action. My medical team seemed to be well-versed at prescribing meds and not much else. Meds that I did not want to take longer than needed. Well, food is medicine. Garbage in, garbage out. I viewed it as my reboot. So, I decided to follow a vegan diet and did more research in a quest to learn and do what was in my control to help my body regain function and to live optimally moving forward.
My passion and purpose are tied to making wellness attainable to anyone who desires to live optimally.
